From Dixie De La Tour, creator of Bawdy Storytelling:
Bona Fide Storytelling is an interactive and live stage performance series that focuses on the stories that change our lives - the big, no holds barred tales you don't share at a job interview. Funny, brave, transformational, true revelations, all hosted by storytelling veteran Dixie De La Tour. This is PG-13 Storytelling, because you deserve to be treated like an adult and hear ALL the details. You'll laugh, you'll cry - it's waaaaaay better than CATS!

Performer Bios:

❤ J. W. Friedman is a long-time San Francisco resident who relocated in the early 2000's from the swamps of Central Florida. A humorist, comic, broadcaster, and musician, J. has dedicated most of his life to pursuits that others would consider frivolous, but ones that he considers "rad as heck". As the host of "I Don't Even Own a Television", a bi-weekly comedy podcast about bad books, Friedman and his co-host delve into the humorous aspects of some of the worst writing ever published, and do so with a jocular, light-hearted tone that has more in common with NPR than the dark corners of the internet. He has also recorded over fifteen albums of post-modern hip hop as "Satellite High".
A staunch advocate for social justice, and a walking encyclopedia of professional wrestling knowledge, J. W. Friedman contains multitudes, and enjoys nothing more than making people laugh.

❤ Bandee is currently a philosophy student in San Francisco, who, as his favorite Philosopher Thomas Berry also believes, "we live in between the stories". An engineer by profession, and an explorer by heart, he has lived and worked in 4 continents and can tell stories in English, Hindi, Spanish and German.

❤ Lora Lewis is a writer, educator and the mother of a child who reminds her what truly matters every single day. She believes in the power of art to transform lives, cultures, and politics, and thinks that we could heal many of the world's greatest problems if only we listened to each other's stories.
