Do you dance Salsa or Bachata and Ski or Snowboard (or have been wanting to try)? Here's the perfect opportunity to combine both with a fantastic fun social weekend where up to 55 people hit the slopes during the day then dance the night away!

Friday 2 August 2019 - Sunday 4 August 2019 (2 nights accomodation).

Bookings required by Friday 26 April with $80 deposit.

The weekend is based at Snowy Waters Lodge in Raetihi (10 minutes from Ohakune). I've stayed there 3 times before for successful dance & ski weekends so know it is a good venue. We'll have exclusive use of the large kitchen/lounge/bar (BYO). The lounge has a wooden floor perfect for dancing.

Buffet Meals Included (Saturday breakfast and dinner, and Sunday breakfast). Tea and coffee too. Some help with meal preparation may be required. The meals you'll need to arrange yourself are Friday dinner, lunches, snacks, and BYO drinks.

Rooms: A combination of double, twin, triple, and quad rooms. Think of good backpacker rooms. If you aren't booking an entire room you'll have to share your room with with others (normally same sex). If not enough couples book then some people may have to share doubles! Bed linen and towels provided. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first serve basis, meaning people that get in early will have first picks/best allocations. Like a backpackers there are shared bathrooms for each sex.

The Mountain: If you haven't skied or boarded before that is fine. Come up the mountain and play in the snow or get a lesson! If you're a skier/snowboard already, you'll have lots of dance friends to hit the slopes with! Turoa is the closest field, but if the weather for Whakapapa is better then we may (or some people may choose to) go there.

People: This weekend is open to anyone from the latin dance community throughout NZ. The ideal attendee is someone that dances and also skis/boards. Having said that dancing is not compulsory or going to the mountain is not compulsory. So for instance it is ok to bring your non-dancing skiing/boarding friend/partner with you.

Refunds: The weekend is subject to a minimum 27 bookings. If not enough people confirm a booking by 26 April the weekend will not go ahead and deposits paid will be refunded in full. In other cases refunds will not be given. If you find that for whatever reason something comes up and you can't attend then you are free to try and on-sell your place.

Weather: If the weather is so bad that the mountain is closed the weekend still goes ahead and groups of people will arrange off-mountain activities.

Friday Afternoon/Evening: People will be arriving at different times (some early some late) from around the country. Initial meet and greet at the lodge then groups may decide to go into Raetihi or Ohakune for dinner. Then drinks and dancing back at the lodge.

Saturday: After breakfast at the lodge people will head up the mountain for the day. Upon returning to the lodge it will be the prefect time to have a drink and/or spa before dinner. After dinner at the lodge we push back the chairs and tables to dance the night away. Saturday is the main dance night. Music will be mostly Salsa and Bachata.

Sunday: Breakfast at the lodge followed by checkout but many people will head up the mountain for a second day then make their way back home.

Transport: We encourage people to car-pool from their town to the weekend and then up the mountain.

Please help promote the weekend by liking the event, sharing it to your timeline, indicating that you are interested/going, inviting friends, and sharing it to relevant facebook Salsa/Bachata groups.

Cost: $160 includes two nights accomodation and 3 meals.

Booking: If you wish to attend then facebook message me or text me 0278194225 then immediately make a $80 deposit per person to Plexus Communications Ltd 06-0709-0246219-00 including your name and mobile number in the details.

If sufficient confirmed booking deposits are received by Friday 26 April the weekend will go ahead. You will then need to make a final payment of $80 by 30 June.
